Join Poynton Players
Poynton Players is a friendly, welcoming amateur theatre group who share a passion for drama. Our aim is to foster an interest in amateur dramatics in the community as a whole and to provide an opportunity for to people to take part by producing live theatre of the highest possible quality, through a mixture of drama and comedy. Sometimes frightening, sometimes amusing and often thought provoking, but always, we hope, entertaining.

We usually produce four plays a year and whilst you might not want to “tread the boards” there are plenty of ways to get involved. We always need people to help with set, props, costumes, make up, stage management and sound and lighting – it’s a great way to get to know everyone! On the nights of performances the people who look after the tickets, bar, make and serve interval refreshment, etc. are just as important and necessary as the actors.
